What?

Cloning is the method of creating an identical copy of an existing Oracle E-Business Suite system. The system to be cloned is called to as the source system, and the newly created system is called to as the target system.

Why and When?

• For patch testing
• For refreshing a test system from a production system
• Moving an existing system to a different machine or platform

How?

Simply run the pre clone script in source system, copy the application file system to target system and execute post clone scripts in target system. I will describe all cloning steps in details in next session.

Important: OS version must be same.
